Sivananda Yoga Teacher RYT200
“Health is wealth. Peace of mind is happiness. Yoga shows the way.” Swami Vishnudevananda
Virginia has been practicing yoga since 1998, and it has become an essential part of her life. After a stay in an ashram in Kerela India, she knew she wanted to extend her learning and do yoga teacher training. In 2015 she completed the Yoga Teacher Training Level 1 at the Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham Ashram in Varkala, Kerela, India under the guidance of Swami Govindananda Saraswati, Swami Tatwarupananda Saraswati, Swami Nivedanananda, Mani Raman and others. Virginia chose this ashram because of its traditional methods which include not only on the physical part of yoga, but also the philosophy and spiritual aspects as well.
Virginia’s classes incorporate the 5 points of Sivananda Yoga. They follow a traditional Sivananda pattern of relaxation, pranayama, asanas (12 basic poses with variations), and guided relaxation/meditation. The goal of her classes is to let students at all levels explore how yoga can improve their overall health.
