RYT 200 - Yoga Teacher
Kelsey completed her 200-hour Teacher Training with Schoolhouse Yoga in Pittsburgh. She started practicing yoga over a decade ago, in middle school, to ease high anxiety, becoming more serious about it the last couple of years during her time in college. Her personal practice draws from Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow as an outlet for stress, and has taught her how to be more patient and flexible in every aspect of her life.
As an instructor, Kelsey hopes to bring this understanding of a holistically therapeutic practice to her students, encouraging the use of pranayama beyond the studio to ease anxiety and everyday stress. She frames her classes around the idea that a practice doesn’t have to move quickly to be challenging. As a result, Kelsey offers a thoughtful, deliberate flow in a nonjudgmental and accessible space.
Outside of the studio, Kelsey lives in the Southside with her orange tabby cat, Monroe. She is an editor and loves to create things. On the weekends, you can find Kelsey with her cat or with her friends, and always at her favorite restaurant, B52. She is inspired by yoga and its philosophy, music that you can dance to, and making people laugh.
